Since our inception, we have worked on over 225 different projects for a host of private- and public-sector clients, including port authorities, economic development agencies, shipping companies as well as local, provincial and national governments. James Frost
James (Jim) Frost is President of MariNova Consulting and has 35+ years of experience in the Canadian marine sector. He is a Canadian expert on short sea shipping, having led several related studies for a variety of clients, including Transport Canada. He managed a container feeder/transhipment service operating between Halifax and Boston, which was the result of a market and feasibility study that he co-authored. He was also marketing manager for Marine Atlantic when it operated five major ferry services in Atlantic Canada. Earlier in his career, he conceived, developed and successfully introduced “Cruising Labrador” a marine eco-tourism product for Marine Atlantic. Jim has a BA from McGill, an MA from Queen’s, and an MBA from Saint Mary’s University. He has authored two books as well as several articles on short sea shipping and the ferry industry. In 2015, he prepared one of 31 studies commissioned by the Canadian Transportation Act Review Secretariat.
